The top seven cities saw a 31 percent increase in housing sales this year, with 4.76 lakh units sold, despite hardening real estate prices and rising home loan interest rates in early 2023. According to data from real estate advisory firm ANAROCK, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) witnessed the highest sales, with about 1,53,870 units sold. Pune came in second with 86,680 flats sold.
MMR, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, and Hyderabad were among the top seven cities.
In the top seven cities, sales of around 4,76,530 units were recorded in 2023, compared to 3,64,870 units in 2022. According to the research, the last peak was reached in 2022, following a sales volume of approximately 3.43 lakh units in these cities in 2014.
