UK Govt Dept Buys Office Space in Mumbai for Rs 101 Crore

According to records obtained by Propstack, the Secretary of State for Foreign Commonwealth and Development Affairs (FCDA) of the UK government purchased office space in Lower Parel, the commercial center of Mumbai, for Rs 101.2 crore, in one of the biggest commercial transactions of the past few years.

Spread across more than 14,883 square feet, the One Lodha Place building houses 12 office apartments. One Place Commercial Private Ltd., a division of the publicly traded real estate developer Lodha Group, is the seller.

According to the document, FCDA paid a stamp duty of Rs 100 and signed the sale agreement on May 5.

Harjinder Singh Kang, the Deputy High Commissioner for Western India and Trade Commissioner for South Asia, signed the sale deal. Kang is in charge of UK-South Asia commercial and investment relations. According to accounts, he also holds the position of British Deputy High Commissioner for Western India, situated in Mumbai, where he is in charge of the states of Maharashtra, Goa, and Madhya Pradesh.
