Delhi NCR, Followed by Hyderabad Has Largest Average Flat Size, Mumbai The Smallest
Compared to residents of other top cities, residents of Delhi NCR—which includes the cities of Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad—seek larger, more opulent residences.
In the last five years, the average flat size in Delhi NCR has climbed by 96 percent, from 1,250 square feet (sqft) in 2019 to 2,450 sqft in the first half of 2024, according to a recent report by real estate consulting firm Anarock. This surge has been attributed to an increase in the supply of new luxury apartments. The NCR had the largest average apartment size, followed by Hyderabad.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) has the smallest average flat size, the survey noted. The poll indicated that, as of the first half of 2024, the average flat size in the NCR was 2,450 square feet (sqft), while the average flat size in Hyderabad was 2010 sqft and the average flat size in Mumbai was only 825 sqft.
