Noida Authority Frees 18 Acres of Land Worth Rs 308 Crore from Land Mafias
Officials stated that since March 1, the Noida Authority has reclaimed 71,885 square meters (17.7 acres) of property, valued at over Rs 308 crore, in an effort to stop the encroachment of government land and the illicit selling of plots.
They said that the authorities had noticed that government land was being encroached upon in a number of city sites and that land pieces were being sold unlawfully by deceiving the general public. According to authority authorities, the next few months would see a continuation of the campaign against land mafias.
“Various sectors, villages, and areas, particularly along the Noida Expressway, were identified by the Noida Authority as areas where land mafias had encroached upon government land and were trying to sell plots to the gullible public.” The Authority had conducted an anti-encroachment action in 14 locations, encompassing 20–25 land plots in around 11–12 distinct Noida villages and sectors. During the crackdown, the land mafia’s unlawful structure was dismantled in front of police, a senior Noida Authority official informed Moneycontrol.
Numerous villages, sectors, and locations, particularly those near the Noida Expressway, had been flagged by the Noida Authority as places where land mafias had invaded government land and were trying to sell plots to the naïve public. Villages like Sorkha Zahidabad, Salarpur, Asadullapur, Mohiyapur, Sadarpur, Mamura, Garhi Samastipur, Gulawali, and Salarpur Khadar were all part of the anti-encroachment campaign.
